Our home in the heart of Ireland
Carroll Meats was founded in 1979 by Seamus Carroll in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Built on the recipes and traditions of the family, Carroll’s quickly became established as one of Ireland’s favourite family brands.
Thirty years later, Carroll’s are still part of the community in Tullamore. Our involvement in the County is known nationwide through the sponsorship of the Offaly GAA teams. For nearly 20 years, the Green and Gold has been emblazoned with Carroll’s, making this the longest running sponsorship in the GAA.
Getting bigger but not too big
In 2004 Carroll’s became part of the IAWS Group, along with other well loved brands like Cuisine de France and La Brea Bakery. The new partnership brought investment and a move to our new home on the outskirts of Tullamore, which boasts a research and development Centre of Excellence, allowing us to develop new recipes and perfect old ones.
The new investment brought success. Carroll’s Deli ham is the number one Branded Deli Ham in Ireland. Enjoyed every day all over the country, the local success story from the heart of Ireland is now a nationwide favourite. But just because we got bigger didn’t mean we changed our philosophy, we don’t take shortcuts and we never will – Our ham is slow cooked and Irish made.
Commitment to quality and Irish suppliers
Since 2007, Carroll’s has been proud to hold the Bord Bia Q mark of approval for our range of cooked hams. This offers customers the certainty of knowing our hams are 100% Irish and quality assured
Turning a new page
With the launch of our new range of pre - packed ham slices we are turning another page in our company’s history. We have learned many lessons in the last thirty years. Foremost is that patience is a virtue and taking time to do things right will always pay off. Our range of slow cooked hams have been a deli favourite for many years – now you can take them home in a convenient new pack. Who knows what we’ll think of next.
